Whilst we in the UK like a golden oldie, the Italians can match us. Gorgonzola heads all the way back to the 12th Century when it was made in a small town in Lombardy near Milan. Ours at CG is sourced from La Casearia Carpenedo.
After a summer taste-off at Cheese HQ, we plumped for the Piccante rather than Dolce. We blame our taste buds...they were hopping trying to cope with the creaminess AND that sharp, spicy bite. Even though we kept telling ourselves we had reached our fill, it kept coming back to the table. Would you believe, even some blue haters were converted..
